I don't think the caller was defeated. I think he actually won.

A small victory, for himself, in acknowledging his defeat: by correcting a misunderstanding one improves their knowledge, and if that's not a victory, I don't know what is.

Something very few religious people are willing to do.

And that, my friends, is what we call an epic win.

I've actually noticed that with a few callers. If not admitting they're wrong you can sometimes hear that they're taking some of the reasoning on board, and seriously thinking about it.... even those who turn nasty at the end (possibly because they're upset that their belief is wavering?)

That's what I like about these guys, particularly Matt; they know their stuff and mostly manage to stay respectful & amazingly patient even to the really stupid callers

Ah and in over 1 thousands years, that "new world to come" hasn't shown up yet, however it seems like modern medicine seems to be dealing with more and more illnesses then jesus ever did.

Hmmmmm... so when is this new world to come going to show up?

So basically in order to have believe in god you have to have faith in him, which would ALREADY be believing, and you have to acknowledge sin as a concept founded in reality, WHICH WOULD AGAIN already be believing, and then trust in jesus which would again be already believing.

In short, if the only way to get to faith is to already have faith, then doesn't it already presuppose it's conclusions?

It's just a cop out, that's no accurate way to know if a god exists or anything of the sort.

You ask or order me to believe things; I cannot believe on command or out of choice, unless you torture me into it (something we know Christians are quite happy to do). I believe what I believe based on evidence and observation and it changes with changing evidence

Am I the only one who's getting really sick of ARMRPEERCING spamming this same bollocks onto every atheist thread?

I can no more believe that Jesus existed than you can believe you're Julius Caesar. Belief is product of evidence, and Jesus has none for him, and everything against him. You've been lied to and went with it, I chose to think about it, and do research.

It's too late to be saved once you have the fruit of knowledge, you know.

So, please, take your unbearable self-serving pride you call "God" and make like a tree.

John R Butler - Televangelist

Bad news though...not one person has bothered to put it online so you won't find it for free anywhere.
