  • what´s the horsepower of this aircraft?

  • @aerosjk It can have a number of different engines, but this one is about 750 shaft HP

  • What airport was this?

  • @viperq Hayward executive KHWD

  • It sounds very quiet. What is the noise level like inside the cabin?

  • I'm sure there is an official answer on the internet somewhere...Just my personal opinion, I was wearing a clam shell head set & took off the headset to talk to the other passengers & didn't have to yell, it was very comfortable. And the engine noise is smoother than a piston engine so its less irritating.

  • The Lancair Evolution is not slow. Here is a link to flightaware data where one hit (with tail winds) 433 mph. Do a search on Flight Aware for N925DW. That's the tail number.

  • That touch & go was pretty amazing. So much power. And the person saying 300kts is slow for a turbine is crazy. At altitude, with winds, I've seen data on flightaware that an Evolution hit 376 KTAS. which is 432 mph.

  • N927LE was at the Moscow Airshow in 2011 and I was very surprised when I saw this Evolution coming across the ramp and parking next to my Legacy in Goose Bay, Canada. Simply by chance, we both stopped at Goose Bay while I was eastbound for my TransAltantic Crossing. Hope that you will soon release some of the video (& stills) shot at Moscow and Goose Bay. Thank you. N767EM

  • Gorgeous airplane. Love the sound of turboprops starting up.

  • @apacheaviator1 300 knots is slow for a single engine turbine? I don't know about that..

  • @apacheaviator1 Cruise speed is also pilot discretion, and many pilots could have filed for a lower speed to save fuel and extend range. Keep in mind there is a turbine and piston version that are flying, which have significantly different cruise speeds. Flightaware is algorithm and database based. No radar involved. It is foolish to base and make comments about something without the facts.

  • @apacheaviator1 Lancairs are definitely about speed. This design is well capable of 330 KTAS. Given it is so new, many are still in flight testing. Pilots performing test flights speed limit it for a period of time for flutter, and other restrictions. Standard flight test protocol. See the experimental flight test handbook published by the FAA. It is advisory circular ac90-89a.pdf.
