It's ironic and weird in a good way. None of the characters have an expected reaction to the situation except for the son, which is a good formula for comedy. One normal person in the midst of a bunch of crazy people in a crazy situation. Like a Chris Durang play or something.
You fail for being narrow minded and uncreative.

Not sure why all the praise for this. So the Mom is marrying a young man...and the ex-husband is OK with it...so what? Why exactly is that idea worthy of 5 minutes of film?

Excellent acting!! Very realistic depiction of a very real issue facing many American families today! Would like to see a longer version of this video. I give this 5 stars!

I don't get it, Brett. I watched the TOP 20, and I don't fucking get it. "MEET HAPPINESS" is brilliant, in comparison. So many priceless lines "...I am not floating a Candian!" Pitch perfect acting. Solid directing.
If I had to vote between all the "TOP 20" films combined and MEET HAPPINESS, and only my vote counted, Brett Haley would be going to Sundance in January.
