This is my translation for the song "Elle Me Dit" by Mika. I know it's not perfect, so suggestions are always welcome.
Thank you for watching!

BTW, sorry for the bad music quality, but the good quality audio is blocked in all countries.

  • First of all, excuse my english, I'm french.

At the begining of the song, he says "Qu'est ce que t'as t'as l'air coincé, t'es défoncé ou t'es ..." You chose to translate "gai" that, and you're right, means "happy". But, in fact, I'm thinking tha he says "gay" (that's the same prounonciation in french) that means gay just like in english. It makes more sense and I think the in the english cover it's "gay" as well...

  • @clemclemoi That is okay, you're English is good. Excuse my French, of course, I am American. I had trouble concerning this word. There were many debates on it. Some people thought it meant happy, some people thought it meant gay, as in homosexual. The reason I chose happy is due to personal reasons (I didn't want it to sound so offensive) and due to the lyrics I had translated, which wrote it as "gai". But gay in English also means happy. Thank you, though, for your suggestion.

  • mais bon je crois que le reste est correcte lol ^^

  • @XSMSCREATORX lol, thank you for your suggestions.

  • @mayaah2481 No. "Elle me dit" is in the present (She tells me) and "Elle m'a dit" is in the past tense, just like "She told me"

  • @Tarzou25 Okay, grammatically, yes. She tells me is correct. However, I base my translations off of the translations of other people and my own opinion. When reading the other translations, all of them had used "she told me", and so I picked that up as well.

  • "milliardaire" means "billionaire" in English. That's right, it doesn't change a lot... but I'm a perfectionist x)

  • That is SO not mika singing! Its horrible!

Il en est ainsi ne chante pas mika! C'est horrible!

  • Me and my french teacher sing this in class,

    #Weirdest Kid In The School.

  • I'm stuck between loving this song and wishing that it was in English. Mika is awesome, and this song is beautiful, I just wish it was easier for the French-impaired to sing along!! Now I want to learn French (lol).

  • Ppppppppddddddd

  • It says that internet is no good for my head- well,,,,, im on the internet so... TOUGH!!!!!!!

  • wait... if your american, where did you get the song!?! tell me!

  • The sound sounds very off in this video

  • @clemclemoi Your totally right. It's just that mika changes the pronounciation to make "gai" rhyme with "coincé"

  • Thanks for the translation!

I love Mika's songteksts, so I was not to happy when he started singing in a language I don't understand ;)
