What our MPs exported to The Hague

Among the enduring spectacles of the start of the ICC cases against six Kenyans is the presence of a large number of politicians who are ostensibly here to escort and give moral support to the Ocampo six. But as John Allan Namu reports, there is more to the trip by MPs to the Hague; it is about exporting a peculiar Kenyan but not necessarily positive culture.

This is ludacris! The MPs accompanying these suspects must have a crime they committed in the past that may require support. I guess it's a 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' culture. We do not reevaluate why we do it and how we can change the face of leadershi, the structures are there though. Why do we even dream of defeating the big beast, corruption.Corruption everywhere as sticky as glue and as contaminating as a plague. Even if we complain about the leaders, the fact is, we elected them. And they have supporters in Kenya even if we may not be one of them. So really, at the end of the day, we should be looking at and reevaluating ourselves. We are equally responsible for our own fate.
