QR Code Demo

Okay, so I got a new RAZR V3xx phone for Christmas, and have been messing around with it since. I still don't have the thing working exactly the way I want it, but I took some time away from my mod...

QR Codes are for a**** ;)

Not that you think they are useless. QR Codes are cool!
But if you are searching on youtube for "qr+bum" you'll see what is meant in the first line ;)

Enjoy the flick!

QR codes isn't only used on the net -.-
Japan uses it everywhere, on products posters leaflets etc
People don't carry around laptops where ever they go so they created QR codes so you can read it on your phone then access the website there
Most japanese people uses their phones for internet and the TV etc more than the actualy phone function to call people
It may be pointless to you but it's useful to them.

I don't see any value in it. It's just as easy to print a URL and take a picture of that. The QR code removes a certain amount of free action and you're forced to do what the QR code is designed to do before knowing what that action is.

What's the point of printing a url then taking a picture of it? You would just have the picture of an url....It wouldn't make your phone go onto the internet and retrieve more information....
A QR code is just a way of storing additional information on things instead of writing a whole load of stuff on the actual thing.

Taking a picture of an url is really stupid imo

Here is a crazy idea, look at the url, remember it and type it in your browser. The QR code can force you to take actions you're not aware of. The QR code is just a way of taking individual control away from a person without them knowing it. If people are too lazy or stupid to write down or remember a URL then QR codes must be the way.

Individual control? That doesn't even make sense! The code doesn't even MAKE the person do anything! It just tells the person scanning the code additional information or link them somewhere using the internet on the phone.Certain codes also lets you download free stuff. Nothing wrong with that. Also it doesn't directly link you to the internet once you scan it, you have to actually click the link to take you to the webpage, it doesn't force it on you.

It will take control of you and your device and it will eventually control your thoughts.

QR Codes arent just URL containers.... they can contain all sorts of information mainly already used by logistics companies as a way to quickly track parcels and deliveries as they can contain much more information than a 1d barcode
