Okay, so I got a new RAZR V3xx phone for Christmas, and have been messing around with it since. I still don't have the thing working exactly the way I want it, but I took some time away from my modding to demonstrate one of the neat apps I've got working.

This application is a QR Code reader, which uses the phone's camera to snap a photo of a QR Code, then analyze it, turning it into whatever the code contains. These neat little barcodes usually contain URLs, but can also contain plain text, phone numbers (which phones will ask you to call), SMS addresses (again, they'll ask to SMS), audio and video streams, and much more.

Check out the video to see it in action.

  • What software is this? I can't find any qr code readers that work on my V3xx.

  • It's Kaywa Reader. Kaywa Reader will not work on a V3xx unless you get the Java_Permissions file from a V3x. Be warned, however, that doing so will break all the apps that come with your phone. I only used Mobile Email, which I reaplced with Yahoo's own app.

  • If you're just an average person getting into the QR game, get the iPhone app "Dittle". It scans and create QR Codes. Very simple, completely free, and the best way to instantly share contact info and social media links. Does anyone else have Dittle?

  • To see how QR code actually work..ie. how it is made up and other technical details, check out this vid - watch?v=-oBht-6ggKw

  • We like it!

  • i scaned it

  • Check any UPS label too and you will see them there too

  • All over inn Norway too D:

  • I got the TRON book and at the end they decided instead of releasing the book after the movie like most people, they use a QR code. There's a point when a book gets too complicated.

  • No more 2D codes, Bye Bye 2D Codes.

A new addressing technology called the Keyword Identifier(developed by Oyokey Inc.) performs better than any 2D code. It gives customers, users a better experience and retains, enhances a company brand without introducing any other brand and the same Keyword Identifier can work via typing, scanning or speaking. The Keyword Identifier has all the important features of these 2D codes and much much more. Check out Keyword Identifier at Blogspot.
