@infiniteinfiniteinfi We're talking about a public protest who wants to gain support from more and more people. Hence the whole "99%" slogan.
So filming in this context was completely justified, and not just within a legal context. Fuck these D.C. hypocrites.

I can guarantee you that the police have set up 24 hour surveillance from multiple locations. The reasonable expectation of privacy does not exist in a public park and it is unreasonable to stop Adam from recording. After their big long speech about not breaking the law, to turn around and infringe someones rights is disingenuous.
I see it as a love hate thing, they love it when video is used to support their civil suit, but hate being seen by all their Republican friends.

p4h10oso you're an idiot.... The thing is they are in a political movement and doing it outside where everyone can see them. They are begging for the attention anyway as they are sitting in a damn park. In short stfu tool bag.

@p4h10oso you would just be a creepy asshole. adam is filming a public demonstration. what is the point of holding a public demonstration if you dont want people to see? if they are so concerned about people seeing them demonstrate they should just go home and demonstrate in the privacy of their own homes.
Adam is being singled out. If he were a member of the media or someone who was an open supporter of these people's beliefs, there wouldn't be a problem.

@surfer53 Precisely correct, Adam was singled out because they didn't approve of a dissenting perspective to their collectivist rhetoric. If OWS wants to maintain the moniker "the 99 %" then they need to look for common ground with all political leanings. I would suggest staring with individual freedom.

So tomorrow I think I will go to Adam Kokesh's houtse and set up a camera and when his wife comes out on the public sidwalk I will start filming her and then follow her on the public roads all day and then thru her daily routine in public and...........see?? When she tell me to stop it, AND SHE WILL, I'll refer her to this video and tell her Adam says it's A-OK and he better back me the fuck up or he's a hypocrit right? What do you suppose Adam will do? Cuz I'm gonna do it everyday and post.

@p4h10oso Well, legally I think you would be within your rights, I am not sure if there could be some sort of harassment charges brought against you, but the paparazzi do it all the time so I doubt it. You have to understand that it's a little bit different, Adam was filming a very large group of people in the middle of the city. He wasn't singling anyone out, if someone was uncomfortable, they could easily move out of the cameras way, Adam wouldn't stalk them like you described.

Well, what's wrong with respecting people's wishes to not be filmed and have their faces put on youtube?

@infiniteinfiniteinfi
Well, it's a public space, so Adam is well within his rights to film. Considering the back story to this, and the fact that they were all protesting, I suspect that they didn't mind being filmed, just not by Adam Kokesh.
