it's funny how all these people keep criticizing the robot's technique, lack of expression, and the fact that it's not human, yet they keep forgetting that humans designed, built, and programmed it, which is a very difficult task.

Well what do you want scientists to do - slow down scientific advancement so we stop the technology coming in that would make robots sound even more like human musicians?

I don't think humans will be replaced in orchestras because people will always love seeing humans playing, but it would still be intersting to see a robot orchestra, if they manage to make them as good if not better than humans - it doesn't mean they will be more entertaining than humans to watch though.

For all those moaning that we have a soul and the robot doesn't - there's actually NO evidence that we have 'souls'. That the robot can't play with the same expression as a human, is just down to the fact that the programming hasn't got that advanced yet, and there's nothing to suggest that they won't be able to play with the 'musician ship' that a human can, with later versions of these robots.
