Saxa was a 50-something year old black man when he was in The Beat. The guy in this video was his replacement.

they didn't break up--wakeling and ranking roger decided they could be superstars on their own with General Public and quit the band.

@TheGCStyle The Beat still tour in the U.K, albeit without Dave Wakeling, replaced by Ranking Rogers son, which really does work very well.
I saw then a couple of months back, awesome! They didn't do this track though.
Finished the set with a stonking version of Jackpot. They have dates in UK all the way through to December on their website.

Im not gonna rag on Rebecca Black but it is sad when Biebiers lady gagas and Blacks videos get millions of views and these classic songs dont.

Jeez Hirsute63, chillax. I did a search of "the beat" on You Tube and found several "English" Beat videos. If you don't like the name "English Beat," take it up with the band. We already had a band called "The Beat," so they made the choice to change their name in order to make money of the "fuckin yanks."
Now on to more important things...these guys are amazing! I love the 2tone genre. My fav song is still their rendition of "Tears of a Clown." Thanks Englishbeatvideos for posting!

FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Never got to see them live, however, I learnt from others that did see them, that they were usually way better than the groups they opened for......
They should never have broken up.
