This game is one of the more storied in the UW-WSU series.
The WSU head coach Forest Evashevski was so incensed by the UW purposely giving up a TD to get the ball back (seen at the 36:17 mark) to pad stats and what he felt was running up the score that he said regarding the game the following year "I don't care if we lose every other game we play, we WILL beat UW."
The following year in Seattle, behind future NFL all pro Harland Svare, the Cougars did just that to basically the same UW team.
