More like Newsround considering the approach they took to this issue. Nevermind the fraud of screwing with the peer review process and the hounding out of those with opposing views a'la true book burning style, the collusion with government and deleting of information to avoid FOIA requests. Then we have the arch eugenicist himself (see Ecoscience), John Holdren joining the hockey stick gang to remove the medieval warm period from history etc. Let's just dwell on ridiculous 5yr old level beach analogies and the word 'trick' for thirteen minutes. Whitewash.

  • I'm well aware of the fact that Lord Monckton compares people who believe in AGW to Nazis and cites Haiti as an example....

From the first video that came up: "Four hurricanes in four months have destroyed more than half of Haiti's harvest".

For the record, I've never supported ethonol.. But it's mainly exploitative trade policies by the US that have caused hunger in addition to rising worldwide food prices, and in this case hurricanes.

  • The decline is in the proxy data, not the "real temps". Even skeptic websites have shown that the tree ring proxies show a decline after 1961. Real temperatures were used to replace the tree ring data after 1961. Read the article for yourself, search Mann nature article or Briffa 1998.

  • There are ppl dying of stavation in Haiti because the use of productive land for biofuels is inflating the price of food: do a YT search for Mudpie Haiti.

The fact that ppl are dying because of fraudulent science is worthy of insults at minimum and crimes against humanity prosecutions.

  • Precisely! So why is Mann using questionable proxy data to "hide the decline"?

  • i'm really not interested in exchanging insults, I was just trying to provide you with some information. peace.

  • tree rings were an attempt at an indirect indicator of temperature. they showed a divergence from real temperature (i.e. thermometer) data after 1961, which does raise questions about their validity as such. you can read about this in Mann's nature paper or Briffa's 1998 paper.

  • BTW. You asked, "how could adding in 'real temps' possibly hide a decline in real tempts?" They are adding temperature divergences of real data from different dates.

Fudge factor, hide the decline, lost data, deleted emails, stiffling opposing views, civil actions and a potential RICO action in Pennsylvania will be enough to convince you that AGW is dead!

Of course, some stubborn ppl will continue to praddle their outdated gospel, but there's nothing I can do about that.

  • Of course you care about Copenhagen. The fact that you deny it is the most powerful evidence of its failure and climategates validity.

Besides, what does the tree ring data indicate? Temperature. Therefore, to use tree ring data temperature proxys to hide the decline is, by inference, a reference to temperatures. Or do they use tree ring data to analyze wooden horsies?

  • I don't care about Copenhagen, I was just educating you on something that you were misinformed about since you expressed confusion about the video. Yw btw.

  • Climategate brought the Copenhagen negotiation to its knees. You can praddle on as long as you want, but we both know that AGW is done.
