  • @lightheart2001 And who exactly are you? Frith is one of the most respected researchers in the area of ASDs. I doubt you've even read any of her work. The fact that you fail to understand the context of what she says is telling of YOUR credibility, not hers. Idiot.

  • Professor Hack, is more like it.

  • At point 05:22-05:38,

She says, "And yet, not everyone agrees on how to explain these. There are different cognitive series, and I think they don't need to be correct in order to lead to new knowledge."

What??? She's basically saying that the theories don't need to be proven correct, in order to become a basis for new knowledge? So you can just make up whatever you want, and who cares about proof? That is very "unscientific", and seems like a highly questionable method for obtaining knowledge.

  • Going by what she's saying, most men are autistic, and most women are "normal" standards.

Also, her example of the "autistic child" thinking where the marble is, is inaccurate. The study is actually largely true for MOST children at a certain age of development (from Piaget), not just children with autism. She miscorrelates the example with her point, and thereby making her credibility questionable...

  • This video started with 60 seconds of twangy muzak and graphics. Waste of time.

  • This is my sister Uta.Its hard to believe, but it is true.

  • Fantastic Person!!!

  • This is very interesting. I have a book by Uta Frith, Autism - Explaining The Enigma - and I learned a lot of new things, thank you Uta! Thank you for sharing it!
