actually, usually whenever a romaji character with an o like "to" or "do" then a u (obviously like toU), the o is pronounced longer. the pronunciation isnt really any different. plus, when you spell tourai's name out it makes more sense: first character is to, second is u (silent though), third is ra, last is i (im not sure if that really is it but thats how i remember)

thats just a generalization, there could be other "rules" in japanese syntax that may not apply but for the most part its fine

I've heard since the U is small, that would be pronounced at Tuurai. The Tu in japanese is a Tsu, so to make the sound "too" you need to combine "TO" & "u"... Or so my teacher tells me. o.o;; Just reiterated what i heard.
