If perfect angels could sin and fall, how do we know this won't happen to us sometime in eternity?

  • biggest difference between angels and us in eternity is that Angels never knew what sin was when they decided to disobey God. WE, on the other hand, will have sinned greatly and received God's grace, we're like starving beggars who have been offered at seat at the king's table, none of us will be stupid enough to go back onto the streets because there's no allure in sin once we've tasted it and then tasted God fully. (and we only taste him fully after death.)

I agree, I am getting a greater respect for him, answering honestly rather than making something up.

  • @FearMonstro, faith based from compulsions, regardless of what you can concretely prove about it.

also, sin was not "created". sin is not a new, different substance that God hated but wanted to exist. whatever God desires is good--that's why it is. Good is not some quality or essence that God refers to. Good trickles from God. it cannot possibly be questioned because, aside from God, what is there? sin is a not inherently, but a defaulted-to state that derives from the conditions for love.

  • God creating Sin? It's the ultimate mystery because it's the ultimate paradox. I would have to suspend all of my logical thinking to accept this fact. The same logical reasoning that God wants me to use in a positive way. Adding thus another layer of inconsistency; that God wishes me to suspend reasoning and use reasoning simultaneously. I simply can't. And thus..I don't believe. Some say that at this precise point faith comes in. Faith based on what? No longer reason. What else do I have?

  • i had this question 2. Good answer.

  • The reason why Calvinists believe that God ordained all evil, even the original fall of man in Adam and Eve, is because they do not know what godly love is. God who is the essence of love will never force anyone to love Him and therefore needed to put Adam and Eve under a time of probation to see whether they would love Him willingly from a pure heart. Absolute obedience to God is the bedrock of true love and that is precisely why Jesus said: "If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Joh 14:15).

  • @Punisher4bmw - lol, sounds like we're on the same page!

  • @andeeman55 I know sorry i wasnt clear enough i was refering to returning to this sinfull life on this sinfull earth not the perfect earth God meant for us to live on that will be perfect and the practicaly heaven will be on earth :D but u have to be a totaly idiot to return to sin after you have tasted that life and God's glory i would not return no matter what any creation angel or whatever tells me never ever again i would leave God's side

  • @strum The scary thing in all this is that in the Bible, God warns that he has given every person enough evidence in nature alone to convince us he exists. (assuming the bible is true) that means you already have the evidence you need and are choosing to reject God--do you know what the penalty is for spitting in God's face? I'd make sure there were no stone left unturned in my philosophy if this is your current conclusion, one crazy dude claiming to hear from God (like me) should make you think

  • @andeeman55 While I'm ranting, how on earth do you explain near death experiences? People experience a reality with their senses while their brain is dead (ie zero electrical activity). It's like God has supernaturally shown the blind man evidence that red exists and he STILL chooses to say it doesn't, there's just way too much evidence man. Athiests are a dying breed and the more we discover in science, the less probable unguided evolution becomes!
