Anyone who engages waves of consequence knows that once you hit a certain skill level of wave riding, be it surf or bodyboard, the top guys respect each other no matter what. It's the kooks and guys that can't ride anything over 4ft, or really hollow that grovel over who'd better.
Real wave riders know that no matter what you ride, if you do it well it deserves respect.
