It'd be politically wise of Mr Lee to pay his last respect to Mr JBJ. He (Mr JBJ) was a great politician if not dictator, who has contributed way too much for the OPP party. No matter who Mr JBJ is (to PAP), he was one great reason to the changes in parliamentary decisions.

I think whats important is those who loved him were there. People should be free to attend according to thy will. I'm sure Mr Lee's comeptition with him was purely political and nothing more. Mr JBJ was a great man who strongly believed in what he did.

I'm not so sure if it would go down nicely among family and friends if eg. the muderer of a muder victim attends the affected person's funeral. In the same principles I think Mr Lee decilned to attend. Just like the Indian Rojak seller who did not attend the funeral of a food poisoning victims recently. He did not know how the people would react if he attended.
