@jorjohns2012 the AWD models have 4:10s which was made till 2005. then the 2wds came along and they have 3:73. i have the awd model and if i had to do it again would probably go 2wd.

Last specs i saw, they came stock with 4:10's. That was for an 04 so i have no idea if that makes a difference and i am wanting to learn bc im trying to buy one of these trucks.

Damn good looking truck. I've never liked the front end on that generation of Silverado but the SS wears it really well, especially with the black paint. Nice burnout too. I'm more of a Ford guy by the way so it's saying something if I say that I like your truck.

@blkssncpt Yeah these trannys do not hold up well i am very disappointed in GM's decision to put those tranny in those trucks

@chevyluver13 : no just RWD. 06's came just in RWD. 05's came in both RWD and AWD, but its was either one or the other. 03-04 came in just AWD...
Dose this truck had the 5.3 or 6.0? and what gears are you running?

@chevyluver13 : All SS's came stock with an LQ9, 6.0... running the stock 3.73's out back...

@blkssncpt Thanks man. but why an LQ9.? LQ4 Is the way to go if your putting power adders on it. since the LQ9 has a higher compression ratio.

@chevyluver13 : yeah i know, and many people do LQ4's when they put some type of boost into to these trucks but the LQ9's handle it pretty well. our biggest concern is the tranny popping, that will go WAY before the motor does. butyes the LQ4 can handle more of a beating for a turbo'd or S/C'd setup...
