Soulive performs Joyful Girl (Ani Difranco cover) during their opening set for DMB on 5/23/02 at Rose Arena in Portland Oregon. Dave Matthews guests on vocals. Soulive and Dave recorded a studio version of this Ani Difranco tune for SL's album "Next".

I think it's spectacular that two of my artists collaberated and put this song into existence! Dave Matthews is almost as incredible as Ani di Franco! I love both of their works! Congrats, Dave, on singing such a powerful fenimine song! It really does have an effect on the consciensnes of the whole world. Your playing an Ani song says a lot about being a proud of your feminime side, giving women back their power, wich is globally ignored & taken for granted (espec.in America). Thank You!!!~Emily
