For the truth about Joe Meek, hit http://damienatloppers.wordpress.com/2011/12/06/damien-on-joe-meek/
I saw this video on a "soundie" in a cafe in Felixstowe, in 1963. Then later, the act - TWICE. Once at the Rock 'N' Roll Festival at Wembley, in '73 - and then in a more intimate venue at "Flashback '67", in '77. The man was a god. R.I.P., David.
@Romecay Sorry, no! I recall WHERE it was, though [I'm checking Google Earth now] - hmm - it was near the top of Manning Road (Undercliff Road W. end) - west side. The picture res is BAD there - but there appears to be a place on the spot the cafe was located, called "China Cottage" (but with no explanation of what that IS). I can't imagine the cafe was DEMOLISHED, as it was in a row of good quality houses. Hope this info is useful - and maybe you can tell me if the cafe's still there!

Any chance of saying which old cafe in Felixstowe?

@KP371 OUCH! I wonder if the BEGINNING was complete? There are a couple of copies on YouTube - but both have a little chunk CUT OUT near the start. Also, the colour is AWFUL. A clean, unbowdlerised copy should be worth serious wonga, today.
Have a WORD with the guy you loaned it to!

This was issued on a Scopitone reel, an early video jukebox. You might have seen one of those.
I had one of the original reels but I loaned it someone to use in a film and I never got it back :(
