Are you reading from the book Tide, Feather, Snow? I just picked up the book from the library and looked to see if the narrative was from the beginning of chapter 1 "Setting the net" or chapter 8 "Winter" but it did not seem to be. -Kevin

You've done a wonderful job of conveying the un-self conscious oddness of Alaska and its inhabitants. Reminds me of a modern John Haines.
BTW - What a remarkable dog! I just LOVE her outfit. Is she friendly?
