My humble take at the King's(Freddie that is) Hideaway. 2007 R4 with Lollar 50's wind P90's into a tuner and then into the Swart Space Tone with NOS tubes. Wrong notes, warts, and all! Happy Holidays!!!

  • Hi- you really get great vintage tone- sort of a tight woody and dry sound? Have you ever tried flatwounds on your R4? I like the TI Jazz Swing 11's best. Thanks for sharing all the vids.

  • @Periphery100 Thank you. No, I've never tried flatwounds on the R4 but I have considered trying them out. Very well may have to do so now. That's for the suggestion! : ) Take care, T

  • Nice job! Now I will have to rethink if I should post mine! Maybe with a 335 and a 65 Vibro Champ just to be a bit different! :) Thanks!

  • @tenorbanjoguy Thank you! Please post yours. Would love to hear it with a 335/Vibro Champ. Looking forward to hearing yours! Best wishes, T

  • @zwizel No it's cathode based so no biasing needed. Just drop them in and go! : ) Your most welcome. : )

  • @Noitpure Did you need to re-bias the amp after you replaced the tubes ?

    (thanks again:)

  • @zwizel And sending you best wishes to you and yours in 2012! Take care, T

  • @zwizel Wow! What a nice comment. Thank you. I LOVE the little Swart Space Tone. I have a few amps to choose from and this little guy is what I pick 9 out of 10 times playing anymore. IMHO it's the perfect at home/small quietish gig amp for those folks who like pure simple tone. I've had this little guy for around three years now and it keeps sounding better and better. I put some good NOS tubes in it and that's it. Zero problems w/ it and a high quality build.

  • Always a pleasure to watch and hear you play. I envy your fine exquisite gear and the true vintage tones you are able to create. You have a true passion for music, fine gear and pure sound.

Please tell me more about that little Swart. I've been thinking about getting one myself for a little while now. Do you find it reliable and sturdy ? Have you experienced any part failures or tone loss overtime ?

Thanks and all the best for 2012. Health, love, peace and lots....lots of music. :)

  • @gibsonguitar1988 Thank you and Happy New Year! Let me know when you get the vid of the KOT up. I've heard really good things about that one. Enjoy! Best, T
