It's a bit extreme to call this a rip-off of I Want the One I Can't Have. The guitar riff, maybe. But not the tune.

How can something be a "bit" extreme? This is what I hate about Youtube. I tell the truth and I get a thumbs down. The chord progression is almost identical to I Want The One I Can't Have!!! I love The Housemartins, and I'm sure it was probably unintentional, but it sounds exactly fucking like IWTOICH. Which was a better song and came out before.

Agreed. By the way, leaving the occasional vowel out of random words isn't as cool as you think it is.

ha ha yes!!

there's a band called The Courteeners who you might've heard of, they did a song called No You Didn't No You Don't which sounds suspiciously like Hopelessly Devoted To Them by The Housemartins (try Last FM if you can't find that song)...anyway, the funny thing is that The Courteeners' album was produced by Stephen Street who produced Strangeways, Here We Come by The Smiths..i just find it hilarious how there's a big circle of rip offs all revolving around The Smiths' music
