  • @bass420man1 The shift from rocksteady to reggae was illustrated by the organ shuffle, which was pioneered by Bunny Lee and was featured in the transitional singles "Say What You're Saying" (1967) by Clancy Eccles, and "People Funny Boy" (1968) by Lee "Scratch" Perry

  • seeing as its got a fast train beat its reggae or at least the beginning of reggae which is why your cant match it to anything else, the introduction of the crying baby begins the use of outside sounds, which later would go on to create dub

  • @arianjonas

and Joe Gibbs replied with 'People Grudgeful', it's linked on the side.

  • Skas one thing, reggaes another and everything inbetween is rocksteady,

All this "minuetto" stuff is bunk.

  • Peer classic chune!

  • This is a Diss Track to Joe Gibbs

  • There is no point in arguing over what this is, all you have to do is listen for that Reggae gallop. Rocksteady has nothing but wide open space where that bubbling density is in a Reggay track

  • @whoami12121 Thanks for this. I've been wondering who this song is aimed at. I had thought maybe it was Marley cuz I know they had disagreements but that was after this came out so didn't make sense.

  • @KSAventje from wikipedia , copy and paste XD

  • @spx069 no sample .. Real baby !! Son of Scratch.

  • Yep, this beat sure is hard to pin down, but it is reggae. The basic beat behind it is definitely slower than rocksteady, although that offbeat bounce ,makes it seem faster. Desmond Dekker had a few like this too. God, he was great too !

  • yes in between ska/rocksteady and reggae
