Check out my band: www.myspace.com/twelvefootninja

The track you will hear was recorded with a Variax 700 and Pod X3 Live.

Here is a snippet of one of my Line 6 clinics . . . As mentioned in the vid, I am demonstrating some practical uses for the combination of Pod XT Live and Variax.

  • Hi, amazing sound!! where do you connect your pod to get that sound without phones??? I have tried my pod in different kind of amps but the sound is horrible in comparation with the phones :S what do you recomend me to buy? I have read that active monitors should work good...is that correct? Thanks! from Chile.

  • If you can connect via an effects loop or poweramp input you will get a more 'true' sound as your pod tone isnt being colored by the amps tone stack. Powered monitors are great for this. SpiderValve is awesome if you want some valve/bogner vibe.

  • That means that from standard tuning you can change to drop to D without tune the guitar???

  • Absolutely. You can go to any tuning without altering the actual guitars tuning (the guitar must be in tune with itself though!)

  • That is cool that Line 6 can do all those sounds but there is a saying: "Jack of all trades, master of none". I think it applies here.

  • It's got piezo pickups in the bridge, one for each string, they sense the pressure from the strings instead of the vibrations like normal pickups. This is very often used to create acoustic guitar tones, but in the Variax they also process different guitar sounds/tunings etc.

  • thats awesome so much easier for a stage performance

  • Awesome! But the Angus Young could be better :P

  • Sounds vary good.

  • it have loop? thx

  • ledgend, he played grace jeff buckley. sounded pretty good! ive got the variax 700, its incredible

  • I started with a POD XTL, then saw the video for a variax and bought one even without playing it because I couldn't believe it could do all this. I have since upgraded to the POD X3, Variax Acoustic, and Variax 600. All I can say is that I don't even like playing my other guitars any more.

If your a studio rat these are invaluable.

  • I wish people would shut up about things sounding digital... I really don't think people understand what "sounding digital" is.

If you mean it sounds fuzzy... doesn't that mean that EVERY distortion effect out there sounds digital?

His tone was BRIGHT... not DIGITAL

  • aaaaah he played jeff buckley my fav

  • great demo! but why cant they make diffrent shapes of the variax!!! that would be cool! like and explorer or a v!!!

  • All the tones except the AC/DC sounded great. Too much fizz on the AC/DC one. I use a PODxt with a 45w Marshall model that sounds really close. Great demo of different styles here and love the tuning option...bit less pricey than Gibson's Robot guitar!
