I thought Turallure ran like the best horse in the race, and considering he broke widest of all, was last the whole way, and had to make his run widest of all, he was very unlucky to have lost this race to Court Vision, IMO. I've been a big fan of Goldikova during her career. But if she wasn't so hugely popular in America, and if she hadn't done what she had in the 3 BC Mile's prior to this one, she may have been taken down for 3rd in this race? But no way they would D.Q. her in her final race.
@buckywaters And yet he was able to demolish three "also rans" in Immortal Verse, Dream Ahead and Canford Cliffs who were all able to defeat Goldikova this past year.
@WellConditioned They both suffered interference, but I mentioned Turallure's trouble in the stretch because he was the more favored horse in the race and he lost it by a nose - while really charging at the end. And he was in a more difficult position as he fanned out to the extreme outside. Good job by Court Vision to hold him off.
Dale Romans, Court Vision's current trainer, believes this horse could provide some durability to the breed in his career as a stallion. Here's a 6 yr old horse who's been running pretty much continuously since his first start at 2, yet has shown good soundness in his final season of racing. He's won major races on dirt and grass.
@felled There's a great EquiSight clip of Albarado taking Court Vision on a 5f drill in preparation for the Mile. It paid off! CV capped off his career nicely, and will enter stud in Canada next year.
@rcschumann Great comments...would you believe i've loved CV since he won the Remsen as a 2 yo....bet him big and cashed when he won the Woodbine Mile and ignored him on BC Day 2011....the exacta with him and my other boy Turallure paid $1900+.....OUCH.
@felled I agree about Turallure. At around 1:28 you can see him veer out a little to his right and then straighten to continue his bid. This was caused by the chain reaction started by Goldi's adventurous move in the stretch. If you combine that little wobble with how Turallure finished like a steam train, you can tell that the incident in the stretch cost him the race (he was my pick). Great win by Court Vision though - five G1s for this horse now.

@MattPorter100 Ditto Dream Ahead and Immortal Verse. Neither caught a whiff of Frankel, but they also beat her rather easily.

@rcschumann I do believe Court Vision suffered more interference than Turallure. Watch the replay again.
