China rescues and cleans up - 15 May 08

China alone cannot handle this problem. It is only intelligent for it to appeal to British & American help; before the dams start breaking down. The Chinese govt. though seemingly sincere, has not really been open. The video scenes that came out are only of very affluant locations; what about the other side of China, where people are really poor. Where are they in the current scheme of events?

It is true that the Chinese army had a very responsive leadership, which is in sharp contrast to what happened in India, during Gujarat Earthquake, when the people were left to fend for themselves.Yet, it should be noted that in contrast to WTC disaster in New York, the people here cannot do the same effort; the language possibly being feudal.If the political leadership is really concerned, British & American personnel & technological help should have been appealed for.Imagine being buried alive

I really commend China's efforts right now, be they political or not. They have responded very well to this awful tragedy. My prayers are with the affected families of China tonight - may you find peace & health in the near future.
