The January 30, 2008 Department of Environmental Protection sponsored demolition by the Stamford Wrecking Company of 464 Hazard Avenue for an access and parking into The Scantic River State Park at Powder Hollow off of Route 190 in Enfield Connecticut.

  • The last owners were a young couple that died in a car crash. No one has lived there since! I live at 329 Hazard Ave in the early 90s when this happened.

  • It just sadly goes to show that time and change waits for no one...Here today, gone tomorrow.

  • I live in Enfield. Where exactly was this demolition (any nearby landmarks?)

  • This vacant lot location is across the street from the intersection of Holiday Lane and Hazard Avenue.

    The nearest landmark is Kelly Fradet which is a 1/4 mile West on Route 190 from where this house once stood.

    This location is the Connecticut DEP's planned public entrance from a State roadway (Rte 190) into the Powder Hollow section of the Scantic River State Park on land just North across the Scantic River from Stocker's Farm in Enfield, CT.

    South Maple St. was not considered by the State.
