@mdrew10 see my new notes to you. It is all on record. If you really want to know the history of each room just ask me. All the rooms including the apartments.

Now Please do not try to sell the house of the false claim of FLW remodeling the place. Also if you want any more history on Decatur and it's homes. My family also owned the now HISTORICAL Culver Mansion.

The history of the Mansion was this... Built in 1873 by Wm. J Quinlan (another company foundry in Decatur) After he died, Mr Quinlan's widow sold it to AE Staley. Staley remodled it NOT using FLW. When Staley died it was sold to the YMCA and my Grandfather Roy Phillips paid $25,000 for it. In 1953 he sold it to JJ Swartz and they made it into apartments. My grandfather bought it back from them in 1957 and it remained in our family given to Wayne Phillips (father) owinng it until 1978 or 79.

we are gonna have to exchange photo's ... The second kitchen was Grandma Phillips lived there unti she died there. Looks like a mess was made after the Phillips left. They made them into apartments and every Phillips family member had their weddings start on that stair case.
