"Hallelu Yahweh," A MARILYN McCOO Birthday Celebration!!

"I think there are a lot of people who are confused, who are lost and feeling hopeless. That's one of my motivations for recording THE ME NOBODY KNOWS," is what Marilyn McCoo expressed to me in one of our "back in the day" (1991) interviews. It was an exciting time, during the simultaneous reunion tour of The (original) 5th Dimension and the launch of Marilyn's acclaimed Gospel project which not only received a Grammy nomination but resonates deeply with fans of McCoo to this day. Hi, I'm Robert-Allan Arno, biographer of The 5th Dimension and in the course of regularly communicating with hundreds of 5th fans the world over, THE ME NOBODY KNOWS comes up time and time again...the gist is that this is THE album/CD people keep on their shelves and turn to in their hour of need, when reflection, prayer and meditation are essential. It's Marilyn's heartfelt words and mellifluously soulful vocal tones that provide support, comfort and inspiration. (And yes, I most certainly agree!)

Of the four singles released from the project--its lively hit title tune, the power anthem "Warrior for the Lord" (which continually brought down the house during Marilyn's performance of it at The 5th's reunion), the thought-provoking song Marilyn co-penned, "Did We Forget About Love," and "Hallelu Yahweh"-- it's the latter that we feature in our YouTube birthday salute (September 30th) to the graceful soul of Miss Marilyn McCoo. The song, written by Jeremy Dalton reps Marilyn's pure unadulterated joy in finding the Lord ("My heart is feather light...And I can hardly believe I've seen such a beautiful sight!"). My personal vision in producing this video was to present Marilyn "singing and dancing through the decades" as we recall our "collective infatuation" with her 5th Dimension glory days, the recent 40th Wedding Anniversary of Marilyn & Billy plus the thrill of Marilyn's many stellar solo endeavors...a kaleidoscope of a glowing career--the essence of a woman who has brought "sunshine, beauty and blessings" to us all on so many levels of sheer excellence. This one is a big thank you, Miss McCoo from your worldwide fans as we wish you a Happy Birthday with love and a million blessings "right back atcha!!"
