Let's Play the first of the SSI Gold Box AD&D Dragonlance games: "Champions of Krynn"!

This is it! The final series of encounters with Myrtani and his forces! These really weren't all that difficult, to be honest...

Also, WE LOSE ALL OUR GOOD STUFF! STUPID GOOD ARMIES!

Lastly, if you decide to hit up the magic shop in Jelek after the game ends, don't bother, it's not there.

Next Gold Box game will be Gateway to the Savage Frontier!

  • Does the +4 vs Reptiles sword work vs dragons?

  • @harro123 Yeah, it does.

  • If you get the Bozak next to Myrtani to explode, it should damage him even when he isn't targetable by the party.

You get to wander around the wilderness freely after finishing the game proper (esp. useful if a PC is close to leveling up).

Your party will get another Dragonlance in DKK (and that one goes with them into DQK).

Quite enjoyed this Let's Play; thanks for uploading it, Aulddragon!

  • @DOSBoxMom Stabbing Myrtani with the dragonlance repeatedly works well, too. ;)

  • Lord Soth! I always liked his story.

  • @RealArcalian I used to do TONS with UA, and after I get through all the Gold Box games, I'll probably do a lengthy tutorial. My problem with Neverwinter Nights is that I don't like post-AD&D systems

  • @aulddragon Don't suppose you'd experiment with Unlimited Adventures, either. I did, a little. But it's hard to build a whole campaign.

  • @SLTracker Heh, there are a LOT of games with worse endings. :) Besides, considering it's "part 1," it's not really a real ending in my opinion. :)

Stealing my awesome items is unforgivable, but I've come to expect it in the SSI games.

  • @RealArcalian I won't be doing Neverwinter Nights.

  • I remember some magazine maybe around 15 years ago proclaimed champions of krynn as the single game with the worst ending ever! something like "after risking your life to single handily defeat an evil army, you loose all your good items and are thrust into the world with nothing to do."
