Who agrees with me that Ludwig did a disservice by only offering 100 of these snare drums and not making it a permanent item in their catalog?
-
this sounds a lot like john bonhams drum tone. im loving this sound

Gorgeous big fat sound
-
The fact that Ringo Starr, John Bonham, and Alex Van Halen all used Ludwig says something about the company. Great drums.
-
I would probably only buy this snare to use it as a side snare...I love playing thrash, but I don't like the sound of this snare unless I'm trying to practice a jazz beat
-
@drummerjoe78 may be expensive but get a ludwig supraphonic 14 by 6.5 snare drum and tune it like john bonham
-
@SjoesWyberovka They made 100...but personally, I don't like the sound of his snare...to me, it sounds annoying
-
Why in the hell did they only make a 100? Thats one of the best sounding signature snares I've heard!
-
How did you get the drum tuned to sound like that? How tensioned up is the Ludwig P-86 Millennium Strainer on it?
-
@SjoesWyberovka 100 were made.
-
IM DROOLING FOR THAT DRUMMMMMMMM

There are MILLIONS of drum sounds, but you can identify which one belongs to Alex Van Halen. He's had that sound ever since "Diver Down."
Would there still be any one for sale ? Shame they only made 10 of them..

is there an advantage of having 42 strand snares?

Not really an advantage, but you do get more of the snare sound.
