Jon Sigworth, a C5-C6 quadriplegic, demonstrates the gymnastics of moving around and getting dressed. You might also enjoy a film Jon made, called "More than Walking". The trailer is here on YouTube, and you can watch the entire movie at escip.org

  • I really like the video and am sharing it with a patient of mine. I thought you had another video on transfers but can't find it. Do you have one on tranfers from w/c to bed?

  • No, unfortunately I don't have a video of Jon going the other way. But, you might enjoy the movie he made, called "More than Walking". You can see it on his website, escip.org

  • how long has he been a quad? people who upload videos like these should put the timeline of their injury on the videos so viewers can get a perspective as to the level of skills the person on the video in question has, especially when using videos like these as education examples for acute SCI pts.

  • Dude! You are what my therapist likes to call a " design-a-quad" Little or no tone, long ass arms and awesome flexibility! I'm so stoked after watching this video...Just one question, how do you stay so thin?

  • i feel so lucky for me when watching this video! Thank!

  • Nice vid. I noticed he did a few things the hard way tho.

  • Hi, great work. You might also be interested in having a look at the Active Hands hand grip aids to help hold things with weak hands. Google search "Active Hands" or "gripping aids". They hold fingers in really well to stop them popping out with movement. They are also padded, have Quad/tetra friendly finger loops which stay in position (instead of flopping around) when pushing loops through the D rings and are machine washable. Can be bought online and posted worldwide.

  • "then simply" he says it a few times. i do this everyday. what is simple about it?

  • This is very valuable information for a diverse group of people, those living w/sci and health professionals.

  • I am a PTA student learning about SCI. This video IS very educational. I enjoyed watching it. It gave me ideas to bring into the class room.
