Rev. Richard Wurmbrand talks of his time spent in solitary confinement in prison. This is an excerpt of a much larger video entitled "Voice of the Martyrs", recorded in the late 1960s.

This video is part of the Centennial Celebration at http://rw100.persecution.com/

  • Video's of people doing stupid things like jumping off of buildings = 100's of thousands of views.

    Video's of a man who shows us what it is REALLY like to live for God = a few thousand views.

    :::::::::shakes head sadly:::::::::::

  • Right on........his book In God's Underground changed my life. I talk with some of my friends about this stuff, it is powerful and i had heard it mentioned several times in the sermons. Sometimes with my food i oft wondered what it would be like not to eat with a spoon, i lapped soup without a spoon and the soup was still good. I mostly have liquids. I'll sometimes go without fluids for a few hours to remind me of how the salt treatment they administer in some prisons around the world.

  • @flutefun999 very true....very sad...very hard to understand

  • If only more followers of Christ would live like this man...myself included. I can't believe the faith & dedication Wurmbrand has amazing!!!

  • I'm currently reading "Tortured for Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand and I have to say it is very inspirational and powerful. God bless you, sir.

  • Thank you. To God be the Glory.

  • He deserves every single blessing that he will receive in Heaven. Remarkable story, remarkable man...God bless the martyrs.

  • I am glad that Richard Wurmbrand lived to see the fall of communisim in Romania.

  • I am humbled by this man. I wish to learn from Him and his experience. It shows me what I go through as a christian in my life is nothing compared to what Richard and the others like him and ones he wrote about went through and have Christlike forgiving attitude God bless them all in Jesus name, Amen!

  • I just got the book and have to read it after seeing this video. I am ashamed for my complaining about life. This man is and was blessed.

  • Persecution that Christians suffered at the hands of the communists is completely blacked out of history books in American public schools. Wurmbrand's sworn testimony was printed and distributed by the United States Government Printing Office in 1966. It was entitled the "Communist Exploitation of Religion". But its content is considered a remnant of "McCarthyism" therefore it is still ignored by the American press.
