Bruce stops by on a regular basis to harass us at our weekly Grand-Lake counter rallies against Bay Area Women in Black. One time, he tried to block me from handing out flyers. This time, while I was talking to a very nice Palestinian gentleman who had stopped by to chat with the pro-peace (also pro-Israel) side, I noticed some commotion. Sure enough, Bruce had started yet another argument. What set him off this time? A sign saying "Women In Black: Jewish Traitors and Collaborators" referring to the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel predominantly Jewish BAWIB. He kept walking away, and then coming back, yelling obscenities. He admitted he had a problem with the establishment of the State of Israel, referred to us as "you people" and even called Arafat "That Faggot."

I guess it's hard to hate just one.

  • I had never heard about this ban on marriage that is not approved by the Orthodox organizations, but, let's get real, Israel has a Star of David for it's flag. I mean, supposed I wanted to change the US flag to a cross? Do you think anyone would be upset about that? I wonder what ethnic group would lead the fight against it?

  • Israel, like all other ethnic states, has a right to use its ethnic symbols as its State symbols. Lets see other countries abandon their ethnic symbols before going after Israel.

The reality is that the ethnic state is on the rise in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Israel, like all other democracies, must preserve the rights of its ethnic minorities, however.

  • What is call "Palestine" was occupied territory of Egypt - Ottoman Empire. An unprecedented and perpetuated group of self-exiles that have inherited their status to their generation and therefore to justify the hatred and the annihilation of Jews. This "Palestine." had no territory, form of government, constitution, president, etc. The question of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be used as a pretext to put into question the fundamental right for Israel to exist

  • Please understand, I am not so much against Israel as trying to point out it's not such a reasonable country as it tries to pretend it is. But I don't care about that, what I care about is our alliance with it. That should end, it's in the best interest of the US to be neutral in that endless conflict.

  • "There is a large Hispanic community in Israel"

Yeah, I'm sure that 25% of Israel is full of dark-skinned chicano civilians, babies, children, gang members, and pregnant senoritas waving Mexican flags, speaking Spanish, and carting 15 babies around, per couple.

YouJews have a motto and it goes like this: "Multiculturalism for Thee, but Monoculturalism for Me."

  • That is not true. Israelis of all faiths and ethnicities, including residents of East Jerusalem, get yellow license plates. The Palestinian Authority issues white license plates to private vehicles and green license plates to commercial vehicles.

Different states, different license plates. It is just like between California and Nevada and has nothing to do with ethnicity or religion.

  • Theres also yellow number plates for arabs instead of white for jews.

  • There is actually a very large amount of black people in Israel. Both Jewish and non-Jewish. The black Jews are mostly Ethiopian immigrants, and the non-Jews are mostly Sudanese refugees from Darfur. Interracial marriage is not forbidden in Israel, rather, interfaith marriage is. And that is a very contentious issue there.

  • Marriage is controlled by the religious authorites, like in many contries, so interreligious marriage is not performed in Israel. Marriages from elsewhere, however, are recognized, whether interreligious, interracial, or same gender.

Interracial and interethnic marriages are not only legal in Israel, but are quite common.

As for the different schools, this is a demand of the Arab community, against the wishes of the Jewish majority. It is enforced by social norms, not by law.
