U.S. Poverty at 30-Year High

The U.S. census bureau says 46 million people now live in poverty. 70 miles outside Chicago is Pembroke, where 50 percent of the people are unemployed. (Sept. 13)

There is a difference between poverty and being reckless. These people need to cut their yards and pick up the trash. It is silly to blame these poor conditions on poverty. I was born and raised in Africa, but, it is shame that the political system in the USA is starting to reflect the ones in Africa. Impeach Obama for his hidden agenda against the minorities. Wake up Americans

What US government and its population has done to the weak and poor countries of the world is much worse.
I think that what americans are experiencing now is well deserved.

@KarthikSoun In the USA, it's the ppl living in poverty who gets obese and get all sorts of disease. Mcdonalds, KFC greases (won't call those food) are the best food they can find in these areas, if not they get those soup kitchen food or charity food which are mostly grease-packed as well. Healthy food and lifestyle are only for the rich in this superpower.

How this fat dude qualify as poor? He had many surgeries, he has a home with AC... Apart from the fact that he is a dirty dust ball who wont maintain his home and cant go on a shopping spree he can not be called poor..

Outline what Obama did?Oh yea it must have been Obama that said we should never raise taxes on the rich to pay for programs. I bet you this family supports the GOP - whose actions have caused our economic rating to go down, caused budget cuts to the poor and needy, and are making us the laughing stock of the world. GOP uses their money and power to ruin our pres. They're actually hurting us Americans when they sabotage our president.
