Another roll of expired 7250 Kodak film. Though the expiration date is unkown, it must have been a long time past it's date. The original had an overwhelmingly high purple tint to it.

Processed by PAC Lab NYC
Filmed using a Krasnogorsk 3 camera.

  • really fantastic. i wonder if the reason most modern day film looks different to film from the seventies is because its not old. for me the best thing about film is the way it present objects and subjects. its hard to explain but the world has totally different textures and emphasis when you compare films like taxi driver, panic in needle park, pulp fiction, some paul thomas anderson, midnight cowboy, the spaghettie westerns. its just superior to video except for maybe filming nature.

  • @elstroshitnonstop Wow you mentioned some really great movies all of which are on my list of favorites. One thing I found out about the older seventies movies was that used slower film speeds, so you needed more light to actually get a properly exposed image. As time went more films became available with higher speeds which would allow less lighting or even low-lighting for a desired mood, etc.

  • You really should so some more Movies with the K3 since i'm planning to get ony by myself soon. The M42 Mount version then since i do have a few Pentacon prime lenses and a Helios 44M from my Zenit 12 XP. What do you think? Can you blimp the K3 good enough to shoot sound at the same time with a fieldrecorder? I heard the camera is really loud while running at 24 fps.

  • @KRAFTWERK2K6 I bought the K3 with the Meteor lens, so I have very little options as far as lenses. Glad to hear you have a variety of types. Lenses are something I have not read up on and are still a weak point for me. I've heard they can make a HUGE difference in the quality of the image, even affecting the color temperature and such. I have not tried to blimp the K3..it is super noisy...like a coffee grinder! I still love the cam though.

  • gorgeous footage you have there, i'll be buying a krasnogorsk soon. i don't feel like i can relate to bolex or bell&howell as i can to the k-3. it seems like the perfect camera to me.

  • Thanks! I love the K-3. It was my first 16mm cam. I have the bayonet lens type, which somewhat limits my choice of lenses. Good luck with it!

  • looks great though, has a 60's/70's documentary look to it

  • oh, that's a shame, one of the big appeals of the camera is that it has such a wide variety of lenses available. i'll be sure to get one with the pentax mount then.

  • Thanks...the purple tint I removed through color correction in post.

  • nice results. did you pay Pac Labs to take away the purple tint from the original?
