Our toddlers have now grown to a place where they have worked with the indiviual materials in small lots with very close guidence from 1 1/2 years old. Now 6 months later with two new infants, all the Practical life activities have been moved together into the front room. (originally the nap room) This is now the "Classroom" The older children whom have had previous work get to wonder in here and do as many activities as they want. I let them go in during the naps of the infants so I can be with them. One toddler who is 3 can be trusted for short intervals in the classroom by himself while I am watching from the other room.
@ggill61 I found them at Apple Seed Montessori, but I don't know if they are in business anymore. They were $10 each. I would like to buy some more. -Thank You

Where did you find your wood boxes and sorting trays? Excellent!

Keep in touch, is so much fun! When the kids were infants we did some cool stuff. We arranged all kinds of set ups in our living room that progressed with them. We had baby pools and big pillow block off, space defining blankets and carpets, big block heaven.

Love, love this! It's given me so many ideas for the play/work room I just started designing for my 9-month old. Thanks so much for sharing.
