It is good to be alive and to realize how infinitely small we are in the face of natures wrath. We were trapped and had to stay in the 2nd floor of our townhouse and I was really worried for the 1st time in my life that my family could really be in real and severe danger soon. I have not prayed so earnestly as I had done during the peak of the deluge. Yes it was a deluge as 410 millimeters of rain, over 16 inches, poured in a span of only 8 hours when ordinarily in our rainy and tropical country an average of 250 -300 millimeters of rain pour in one month; BUT 410 mm. in 8 hours is unimaginable and can really strain all flood control systems.... Katrina's rainfall is put to shame!!!
Here are some scenes in our neighborhood which I took during the early part of typhoon KETSANA. We could still smile, laugh and take things in stride, but in a few hours we were grim and so worried. When night came, with no electricity and in complete blackout, no news, no nothing and with the frightening sound of the flood waters, .. we were definitely on the border of being horrified for my family. Thank God we came through very lightly when compared to the deaths and the miseries so many tens of thousands now suffer from. We had one drowning casualty here in the neighborhood, a very unfortunate incident.
UPDATE: in the next 24 hours we will be hit again by the 5th typhoon/storm of the month. A super typhoon with 250 kph winds near the center. GOD help us !!
(btw, with all our strength we saved Enzo's grand piano !! hehehee)
Horrible!!!! I would not survive ! I pray that you all are OK and that no more of these torrid currents, can be very unpredictable and Superbly deadly. pls take care.

That was really horrifying.... Hope everything is fine with you and your family! So glad that you have moved the grand piano to the 2nd floor! We were in China when your video were posted. We were unable to watch any YouTube videos while in China.
God bless you!
