They just got problems because the air base was too far from battlefield, how many cargos ships was drown by argentinian planes? And it could be more, but the missiles didn't explode, so you was lucky. And investigate who wons most of doghfights, harrier vs a4 skyhawk = Skyhawk won! So don't even talk about you were better.

A4: efficient aircraft, but limited to modern warfare, where prevail BVR missiles and synthetic aperture radar spotting that far. The modernization over the Embraer should improve somewhat, a stopgap measure until the arrival of an aircraft of superior ability.

Actually, the harriers did better than the A4 skyhawks during the falklands

Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Harrier pilots in the Falklands gave the Argentinian pilots much respect & appreciation for their skill and bravery. The majority of the ordinance drop by Argentinian pilots struck their intended targets, unfortunately for the Argentinians the majority of the ordnance used failed to detonate.

While on active duty monitoring the Falklands campaign: Regarding Air to Air engagements UK Sea Harriers accounted for all the air to air victories within the theater of operations. This doesn't mean Argentinian aviators were unskilled in air to air combat, on the contrary. Argentinian aviators were vey skilled in Air to Air maneuver, unfortunately their fuel capacity was extremely limit over the target area, get in, BOMB and get out, a few seconds on target is all they had.
