I just did a search for Joplin and according to Wikipedia Joplin was named after Reverend Harris Joplin, the founder of the first Methodist congregation in the area. Joplin was established in 1873. Scott Joplin moved to Sedalia, Missouri in 1894. I don't see how Joplin could've been named after Scott Joplin since he didn't come into Missouri until 21 years after Joplin was established. Wikipedia did say that some think Joplin was named after him but it wasn't.
Joplin was named after Scott Joplin, you know, "maple leaf rag", rag time music - everyone in Missouri is taught this in elementary school as part of state history, he was born there, Joplin doesn't have anything to do with Job from the bible, wow I can't believe you are actually trying to sell this, We're in tornado alley here in Missouri, we always have tornadoes in the spring..... I can't say anything about the rest, just that if you're wrong on this one point, what's the rest amount to?
@MrREM6363 I agree. BTW in US's favor.. the US gave Israel Bunker buster missiles...hopefully as deterrent to Iran...OR ISRAEL is going to bomb Iran in about 2 weeks.
@rainy64, One day my friend Jesus will return and set up His kingdom on this earth. The capitol of His kingdom will be Jerusalem. But before that He will come to rapture His people who are looking for Him.Then seven years of tribulation will follow. At the end of the seven years Jesus will return and stop all the fighting. Read Revelation 21:9--Rev 22. Of course what I have just said is a very very simple explanation .
@Rainy64 For centuries people of the three major world religions have been fighting and dying over the same 22,000 sqaure kilometer of dirt, the Holy Land. All that blood split, all those lives lost, what a pathetic waste of the world's resources, wealth and man-hours. I can't believe it, it is the 21st century and people are still behaving as if Jerusalem is at the centre of the universe.
