Just sing, please don't talk.

we love her!!!!

Political views aside, what makes a great singer is their level of intelligence. You can't write great songs without having a certain amount of intelligence. You also cannot have political views without a certain level of intelligence. Better someone with right-wing views than a ditzy blonde who writes absolute trash.

@bbmonte Gosh, you're really delusional, aren't you?

@tooclose2detroit Absolutely 100% true. Love her music, at least the earlier stuff, but a typical (music/hollywood biz) lib re: politics. I just skip over the canned, calculated blather and get to the good stuff ... music, which is what she knows-

I have my computer up as loud as it will go, and I can't hear this worth a shit.

Forget her political views and even her opinions for that matter...When you close your eyes and listen to her music, what do you feel? Personally, it moves me and I was 13 in 1971 when Tapestry came out. I listened to it alot and have gifted it to many over the years. Absolutely EVERYONE I have ever turned on to Carole King has loved her. Her music is real and full of simplistic, emotional thoughts and melodies. She will always remain So Far Away, Beautiful and A Natural Woman, Who has a friend!
To me she was always a bit extraordinary - that's why she still looks and sounds great at sixty four....

I've always regarded Carole King as being a humanitarian, ecologist..similar to Bonnie Raitt and David Crosby.(automatically this constitutes "communism" these days) She hasn't changed over the years and that gains my respect. It takes guts to stick to ones principles. Saw her live in London in 1982 and that was one of the finest concerts ever. Hope she lives to be 200!
