This video, shot by Water Agency fisheries biologists, shows Chinook salmon spawning (laying their eggs) in Dry Creek, tributary to the Russian River, after migrating upstream from the Pacific Ocean. You can see the salmon moving their tails side to side to create a nest in the gravels (called a redd) where they lay their eggs. After spawning, the adult salmon die.
