The Helios Project-short trailer

This psychological thriller explores conflicts between the First and Third Worlds over the energy treasures they each possess. A phenomenal Solar Technology invention is brought from the United States to East Africa, where its application is meant to serve both Worlds and to alleviate the world energy crisis. In the process, lead character Mathias uncovers a conspiracy between oil and solar companies instigated by his own father.
The film has the problems of global poverty in mind, but it mainly deals with questions of identity within the Western World and its direct implications on the Third World. White Mathias is key, having to choose between his privileged life in America and his promise to fulfill his black African brother's greatest hopes for a new and just world order.
Is this the dark side of an unrestrained capitalism or a primal instinct to survive through control of humanity? Is the truth and love at any cost really worth its price? Thats what the lead characters are faced with in crucial situations, questioning their own dignity and role in this world.
