  • Shouldn't this be George Wallace footage, not JFK footage?

  • Why does Peter Gabriel always get rid of the sax when he plays this live? That's like the best part of it!

  • @GuanhaiDW5E : An Assassin's Diary by Arthur Bremer.

  • @azpatriot37 Yeah, he was interviewed about the song and said he took it from JFK and a book which I can't remember now...

  • This song sure deserves better quality audio.

  • @azpatriot37 "Get a life"? Why even say that? What gives you the impression that whoever you are talking to has no life? Furthermore, who are you to define what a "Life" is? Your idea of life could be wildly different from someone else's. It's just a stupid thing to say, and people need to stop saying it. ESPECIALLY when discussing Peter Gabriel.

Just go with "Fuck you," or some other angry words that actually makes sense. Everybody knows what "Fuck you" means, and there's no misinterpreting.

  • @azpatriot37 if you knew anything about peter gabriel, youd know that the assasination of jfk is exactly what he would sing about. and its about him growing up neglected and he finally has the opportunity to be somebody and to be famous. all he wanted was for people to know his name, because his parents paid no attention to him. and yes we listened to the words, and the fact that everyone BUT you thinks its about the shooting, means your obviously wrong.

  • you are right it is all interpretation but closed mindedness to that of the imagination of a child for I was once that child with that kind of imagination in a broken home. I can see the story in the story. It may have been in the background to create his own version but it is what you say, interpretation. And the end result is still the end result. A child wishing his parents were together again. NOT killing the President.

  • I wish this song was slightly longer. It is great, but I wouldn't have minded another minute of it.

  • @azpatriot37 the magic of great lyrics like these is that they leave it open for either interpretation: are the events being told actually happening and the final part explains what lead him to it, or is this all going on in his mind.
