YourProduceGuy shows you how to tell when to pick your radishes and then make a quick little radish recipe that tones down their heat a little and is super tasty. It's one of my personal favorites!

  • My radishes grew huge tops this year, but never bulbed out? Any thoughts as to why, I have never had this happen before!

  • @aunthill167 Well, I'm no horticulturalist, but my first guess would be too much nitrogen in your soil. Nitrogen promotes green growth, but not root growth. Not really sure other than that. Sorry to hear that.

  • What about the radish greens/leaves?? Radish greens contain far more vitamin C (6x more), calcium, and protein than the roots.

  • @tora604 That is true! Those greens would be a nice addition to a green smoothie. They can be a bit prickly in a salad, but perhaps steamed down to tenderize them in a mixed greens dish? I will have to experiment. I hate to waste anything that comes out of the garden!
