Good answer, and some people always say that Piper gives a Works Gospel salvation.
No way...from this video its clear, faith alone.

@FadeakaTheo Have you ever read John 3:16? I recommend it. It is easier to understand than the book of James, and is all you needs to be 100% sure of everlasting life. James is not talking about justification salvation which is everlasting life. He is talking about sanctification salvation. Inconsistent BELIEVERS, needed deliverance from sinful attitudes of pride and partiality in the congregation. The saved needed to be saved. 2 different salvations. 1 by faith alone, 1 by works alone.

@dreiher2 Have you never read the book of James?

@dreiher2 I wouldnt say they "add works" to faith. Rather, they say that the evidence that you were born again, is that you are different from before i. e. regeneration. repenting of sin, conforming yourself to Christ, praying, etc. Paul Washer emphasizes that being a Christian is not a one time flu shot, but a continuous struggle with sin and repentance. But i do agree that Piper in this video goes a little far on rewards in heaven according to works.

I would say that if anyone wants to see what the Bible REALLY has to say about these issues, they need to read anything by Zane Hodges, Charles Ryrie, Bob Wilkin, Charlie Bing, Joe Dillow. These gentleman do NOT force the text to fit their theology text like John Piper, John MacArthur, Paul Washer do. The gospel these people teach CANNOT save. They add works to faith (i.e. faith that works). Believing this false gospel necessitates in the hearer being doomed for the lake of fire.

You sound like a roman catholic, pelagian or semi-pelagian.
Romans 3:20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight;
Phil. 3:9, "and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith."
"Cursed is every man who does not abide by everything written in the book of the law to perform them," (Gal. 3:10).

It's strange that sin is much spoken of, but never defined by most so-called pastors in mainstream Christianity. John defines sin as "breaking God's law", I John 3:4. So, to repent from sin is to STOP breaking God's law and START keeping it. Those who understand this and ask for forgiveness from breaking God's law are forgiven. Thsoe who do not will be held accountable for sin. Faith without works is DEAD. We cannot assume we are "forgiven" when we do not even understand what "sin" is.
This is clearly a false "faith that works" Gospel. He says that at the end all of the works are proof positive that he was born again. Faith that works salvation is faith plus works. The Bible never teaches that. The only thing a person needs to be born again is 1 moment of persuasion that Christ is the granter and guarantor of everlasting life (John 3:16,17). I have never heard Piper say he believed John 3:16. Is Piper born again? I would say based upon John 3:16, NO, unless he did as a child.

@dreiher2 For you and any others who want to dig deeper into these issues, I recommend reading anything John MacArthur has written on the subject of Lordship Salvation. He has a number of articles on his website, or if you prefer books his The Gospel According to Jesus.
