  • Does anyone know???? I am debating among 4 kinds of 15" speakers for live music sound. JBL Eons, Electro Voice, black widow peavys, or Mackie's. Which ones would sound the best for clear, natural, studio quality sounding vocals, as well as clear bass and mids for all kinds of music. Any recomendations from anyone??

  • @Aldenif Model numbers are helpful. Every speaker has different specs. For "studio" quality try to find something with the best frequency response. Something as close to 20-17k Hz +/-3dB as you can get.

  • devon try cerwin vegas still one of the best and most expensive speakers on the market as well as jbl and harmin kardin

  • post a new video of ya stuff

  • @Aldenif Try Nexo's PS15...they are definitely the clearest 15" speakers i've heard. Also, try Peavey's SP3, which is initially a 3-way speaker. Most 15" can't reproduce the mids very clear and cause the 15" woofer and a small compression driver to struggle to reproduce essential frequencies such as guitars, vocals and snare drums. The SP3 is one of the best Peavey speakers on the market, the 15" Black widow handles the bass, the 6.5" handles the mids and the compression driver the highs.

  • I hadn't seen those before. After looking at them though they aren't very good for the prices i'm finding online, I'm still pretty set on the yorkville if I do ever get to upgrade.

  • Have you considered the EV sba760 powered sub? I think they will match those QRX speakers pretty well.

  • Haha the QRX subs are pretty hardcore, you should definitely make a video on the Yorkville sub if you do end up getting it because I haven't seen much on that brand. Also do you need the processing unit for the Yorkville sub?

  • yeah the QRX subs look bad ass but its a little more than I need right now plus I wouldn't be able to afford the sub and the amp to power it. The yorkville sub is about the sam price but powered and I think it may have some processing on it as well.

Once I start upgrading past that for a concert sound system I'm going to be looking at some martin subs but that's a few years away haha.

  • I don't think you could go wrong with either sub, but the EV QRX 218S is really awesome, I recently heard a pair at a party and they were literally vibrating the building. Not only was the bass really low and deep it was nice and tight. The EV subs have a max spl of 139 dB's! Also I haven't really seen too many people with Yorkville speakers, but I hear good things about them. Good luck!
