changed from rendered TTF to a sprite sheet mimicing the extended ASCII table. (like dfort). Graphics stolen from dfort wiki

  • @Joeyboots80 excuse my comment. I played roguelikes and now I love roguelikes

  • @windson7 Because that is not the focus of a "roguelike". Why do we have abstract art? Because the focus is not on a realistic image. Consider "roguelikes" the Picasso of the rpg genre. The less you have to worry about graphics, The more you can focus on gameplay and interactivity. Most of these "roguelikes" put the most graphically intensive "open-world" games to shame in the gameplay-depth and emergent gameplay departments.

  • @windson7 look up rouge for dos -_- thats why there called rougelike

  • @windson7

They aren't terrible, they are meant to be in roguelikes. But if you don't like them, use google to find "graphical roguelikes"

  • why does every roguelike gotta be with such terrible graphics.

  • Lighting effects r cool.

  • wow

  • A roguelike with these sprites would be awesome

  • cool. really like the more open and less random look of the dungeon shape. hope thats not a fluke, and you can make whole dungeon floors that look like that. always disliked the way most roguelikes look like completely randomly placec rectangles connected by almostly completely randomly twisting narrow tunnels.
