  • @toxinfreebrooklyn We do most of our work in Maryland, which has strict lead regulations, so I'm not sure what the laws are like in New York. I would recommend contacting the Health Department or the Department of the Environment, because there usually are dust control requirements. You could also try OSHA, which has regulations to protect the workers on that job.

  • We have a building being demolished at 411 South 3rd St in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 11211 with NO safety precautions regarding containing the lead dust they are releasing into the air right next to a huge apt complex filled with families. Called 311 several times but b/c it's a commercial bldg, they don't need to take any precautions regarding exposing the community to lead dust. Any advice??
