This is very rare! Thanks God some of her video material survived for us to see her controlled intensity and great presence. She sang songs wonderfully, especially the Russian songbook. Her deep, at the same time melancholy and burning soul fits these heartfelt Russian songs like a glove. Her unusual timbre is also remarkable, how can it be so metallic/dramatic but also conveying such smoothness and romanticism?

According to her memoirs, all her work had been destroyed after she lost her citizenship. How did this survive?
